DP Debutantes | photos

An event like no other.

A collaboration that has been welcomed with all-smiles.

A product from several years of training and experience.

The original plan was a simple, quick, closed-door shoot with whomever debutant was available. When the word finally got out, DP was impressed (and thankful) for the overwhelming wave of positive response. Suddenly, there was not enough room for sixteen debutants, eight crew members, five event planners and three hair and make-up stylist. The ordinary shoot became an event.

Rarely does this happen, count on DP in making sure that the best hops in with them in this one-time joyride. Gembso event planners were more than ready and prepared, they’ve made sure that everyone and anyone was in their proper places at all the perfect time. ArianeMisty and Arnel had their own ways of redefining beauty just by hairsprays and cosmetics.

DP would also like to extend the two-thumbs up to the following sponsors: August and Pauline Bondad of Hungry Hippo: burgers were more than a delight; Kharis Plata of Dream Garden: the place meant more than a dream, it was a place of perfect reality; Honda Cars Batangas: indeed a pleasure for providing another haven of creativity; Carol Macaraig and Gembso Cafe: for having welcomed the day with sumptuous morning meal; Jenina’s Place: a good heap of delicious meals that surely satisfied all tummies left everybody happy; and Hotel Ponte Fino: though DP was not in attendance, do not be bothered, there will probably be next year! :D

P.S.

DP has hoped to leave you breathless and tongue-tied. :D

Johannes + Adel engagement | photos

Here’s a quick ran-through of this ‘ALMOST’ couple. They were a phone call away from booking since conflicting schedules have arrived, there was just a spoken agreement and unsigned contract. Papers were ALMOST left unsigned when another couple came along asking to be reserved at the exact same date! DP shoots only one event per day so it’s safe to say we can only see one set of signatures at the bottom of each contract. Every mismatched was resolved and pens were put to good use. Then, their first, planned pre-nuptial shoot was one more ALMOST incident because of the unpredictable, gloomy weather. The second pre-nuptial shoot was way better: the sun was up and the clouds were clear. :D

An overdose of the ‘ALMOST’ have lead them to where they should exactly be – at the altar, a few days from now.

She was a lead vocalist of a band, up in the stage across the beaming lights with microphone on one hand. He was somewhere in the crowd with friends not really listening but looking. It wasn’t exactly her voice that played as cupid’s arrow; it was actually the stares that brought them together. She never really believed that he was serious until she received an international call from the U.S., it was him. It was a long-distance relationship in the making but they eventually made it through the big doors and red carpet all the way to the altar.

Love at first sight and long-distance relationship: clichés that may seem out of place nowadays, except it worked for them so set aside the clichés because their obviously getting daily doses of happily ever after. :D

BNHS ’78 | photos

The year was 1978. Fresh from high school and eager to get to college, these people must have been more than cool. This is the one day that they get to have long conversations about the years in between. Share the energy and enthusiasm of the people behind Batch ’78.

DP sets foot into another first.

Time doesn’t fly, it runs, it ran so fast that it is now thirty-one years later. It may seem too much past but these people are still having the time of their lives up to the present. :)

Parties, DP already have had a handful of those; but, here’s a celebration that literary took in every meaning of the word ‘party’.

From the chosen venue (an exclusive bar somewhere in The Fort) to the hand-picked list of guests, this young woman knows exactly what she wants. But there is more to the bright lights and blaring music of the scene, loving her quietly and supporting her all the way through is the two people who have surely made everything possible – her parents.

Commonality is a safe ground in photography and this night threw in lot of extra stress for the team: mainly because DP’s only photographer had rarely walked pass behind the doors that lead to extreme sights of people and music hurled up into one although for her we decided to make an exception, security was also tight and we had trouble getting in because of the gears, the lighting was limited, manpower was limited and above all of it this was an unknown land of the ‘never-tried’. Nevertheless, there was no room for whining, DP’s always up for the challenge anyway.

Cheers to another first. :D

Prologue: nowadays, artists crept their way on top of the earth like wild mushrooms in the midst of a wild forest. That is not to assume that we are different but nonetheless, do us justice by observing the men behind their lens. :)

When you’re watching from the sidelines, everything around you is magnified; it’s like seeing the big picture on live video stream. When your groom turns somber and you realized your bride turns teary eyed, you are definitely in for another surprise. From the sidelines, you witness every emotion, every effort to contain oneself from breaking down and every single smile that signals more than just pure happiness.

When you’re on the sidelines, there is nothing you can miss.

That day there was just too much sun. Looking around – the beads of sweat, the drenched hankie on one hand with the ever-trusty-handy fan on the other – anything that causes relief was welcome. The sultry weather didn’t dominate the celebration, a sea of people were obvious to be in high spirits not to mention the overly anticipating Mr. and Mrs. to-be. When the bride conquered the aisle, everyone was tongue-tied while chills took over the humid air and goose bumps made its way all over.

After nine years, you would have taught you’ve seen it all but nothing and no one beats the feeling of seeing her walk down the aisle for the very first time. :)
