Weddings are certainly the time and place for the waterworks to happen. But perhaps the most active participant in those crying sessions is the mother of the bride. Most probably the images she’s replaying in her thoughts are her baby girl donning her first white dress at her baptismal all the way to the present white dress: the wedding gown. “Don’t cry, Ma,” assures the bride. “I’ll always be your baby girl.” As the wedding proceeds, a colorful event of lace, flowers, rings, doves, and confetti, the mother of the bride sees her daughter become a wife.
