This shoot was unlike any other. It was an escape from Team DP’s usual routine; it was even better. From the moment Team DP arrived until the shoot was wrapped, it felt we were transported to an idyllic place, faraway from Batangas and into paradise. This haven’s charm was beyond words, and our lens could only capture a microcosm of what the experience would be for its visitors. Nuat Thai promises comfort and relaxation, yet Team DP experienced tranquility and total bliss. The owners made sure every room, every service and every facility surpassed even the most avid spaholic’s expectation. Team DP could not say no to such an opportunity to showcase this haven’s offering and show the world how perfect this place is.

They say he looks so much like me – well I guess, I’m looking at my mirror image then.
Being a photographer, you could only imagine how much I craved for one solid photo. And here it is.
I finally nailed the most perfect self-portrait through Thovi’s eyes.

With his stare and as a father, I just know it’s his own little way of saying I love you.

Don’t worry Anak, Daddy feels exactly the same.

Here at DP, we always have a room for another list of firsts.

When Thovi’s baptism came around the corner, we scouted (as excited parents) for a taste of a new experience. First stop: Chef Juan Miguel. With less than one week under their belt, we were actually impressed at how carefully they planned our event. From the meeting/ocular all the way to their great food and professional staff, they proved to be worth every penny.
A few days left and the cake got us worried, exactly 6 days to go, we went store hopping for a safari-themed cake. But to no avail, we went home even more worried and pressured. My wife called up friends and suppliers for an inquiry but the cake trouble still remained. 4 days to go, my wife rummaged through facebook and all worries soon fade away as Myra of Nanay Aveling’s saved the day. The cake and cupcakes were highly recommended, we promise – its mouth-watering treat for every palate.
Thinking of this safari themed party, we only have one name on board – Jovel of Desigño. We showed her some layouts, pointed out some of this and that, and the rest was up to her. The plan came through, more creative and more remarkable than we ever expected. We were blown away at how productively she put everything together.
For the giveaways, we turned to the tried and tested hands of Anne of Whims&fancies. And as usual, she did wonders!
As parents, we only want the best. The establishments and names mentioned are sure to be stars on the rise. We were more than lucky that this new list of firsts proved to be the best.

First impression is a summarized version of how to project oneself towards other people. Some can be blown out of proportion while others just plain misleading but luckily a few impressions doesn’t necessarily last.

Take my case for example clients have this notion that our photos came out as edited version. That’s where they got it all wrong. See, I follow the mantra of shooting it right the first time so that I can spend a lot less time in my editing tools and more time out there shooting, learning and not to mention a bonus time for my son. :D

As I turn to Manila paper for my light modifier, I share with you a glimpse of raw photos, straight out of my cam. ☺

Note to myself: always bring manila paper at my back pack. :D

Among the hundred reasons why I’m still clicking my shutter buttons is this little guy. Safe to say that, he is my favorite client. ☺

It’s his first 22nd and what better to celebrate this day than enjoying the traditional pansit! ☺

Do not try this at home. You need one good yaya for synchronized lifting and one talented wife for creative lighting. ☺ and of course, wifey won’t light this shoot without one click of her with thovi.
