The real measure of a job well done is not the amount of time and effort put in a particular endeavor, but the reaction that was received after the job was executed. We can never forget what the bride told us after the event wrapped: “Salamat po! Hindi namin kayo makakalimutan”. You can tell that this wedding has the bride’s signature written all over it. The overall look was fun, quirky, girly and vibrant, very much like this bride. Even before the wedding, we already knew she always happy and as jolly as can be. That’s why it came as a surprise when, before the ceremony, we saw her in all seriousness, as she was fighting back tears. Jitters or not, her optimism still shone through, and within minutes, she was her bubbly self again. It was such fun to cover this wedding, from beginning to end. It was quite literally, a happy even after for these two.

This wedding was a showcase of “mixed emotions”. Everyone and anyone were subject to such a spectacle of warmth, pure joy, and romance, that it was quite impossible not to be swayed. The happy atmosphere was so palpable that Team DP was also swept away and got into the mood from start to end. The wedding’s character was true to the motif from start to end. It was lush, vibrant, romantic and full of passion. Maybe the same description can be said on the photos, what do you think?

It is always very interesting to cover weddings because no two weddings are alike. Case in point: this wedding was held in the barrio, so it was expectedly very traditional. Every superstitious ritual was followed to the letter, much to our delight. We were given an impromptu course on traditional Filipino wedding customs, that we came to appreciate how Filipinos valued family, togetherness, and marriage. It was a wedding to remember indeed. Check out the photos and get a glimpse of how rich our Filipino wedding tradition is.

If you were the bride or the groom, what would you if, on the day of your wedding out of town, the church official tells you that your wedding will have to be delayed indefinitely because the there are some documents that haven’t been submitted by the church in your hometown? Most brides would panic and be upset. Most grooms would be angry or concerned. This bride and groom were also upset and concerned, but logic took over emotions. With the help of their family and friends, they found a way to ensure that those pertinent documents were submitted. It took almost three hours of waiting, but in the end, all was worth it. It was a perfect wedding and nothing else went wrong. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief when it was announced that the wedding was a GO. From that point forward, the challenge was all but forgotten and all that was left was merry-making, perfection, and complete happiness. All Team DP had to do was angle, point, shoot, and let our subjects bask in the joy of finally, ever after.

The most interesting aspect of looking through all the photos of events Team DP covered through the years is the emotions that were captured on film. More than taking photos of the wedding ceremony,or the traditions during the reception, it is seeing joy, excitement, laughter, tears, anxiety, on each person’s face. There is a whole range of happy emotions that Team DP is always looking forward to capturing each one. In this case, the bride and the groom are the most notable of all. The bride was understandably emotional during her big day, but we guess the groom must be sharing in her bliss too, because he was also a delight to photograph! It was indeed, such a gorgeously happy day, just look at the photos and smile with us!

Timing is always everything. This couple took their time and waited before they finally settled down. When the big day arrived, we can tell that each detail was meticulously prepared, each song was chosen well, and the elements were in place. When the big moment arrived, the bride, incidentally DP’s classmate in elementary, was resplendent, glowing, and entirely at peace. Her groom was dashing, in awe, and absolutely happy. Team DP wasted no time to capture this wonderful moment, one they waited 10 years to happen. It is perfect timing indeed!

Fate has done all sorts of things just to get this couple together. Same baranggay? Check! Same course in college? Yes! Same company to work for? You bet! Yet all it took was taking the same bus ride to finally enable their meeting and get them together! It must have been one heck of a smooth ride all the way to their next destination, the altar, because these two have been going strong since that bus ride. It comes as no surprise that we used their story as mood board for our photo shoot. We were just so in awe of how Fate worked its magic on these two.

It could be said that distance could do wonders on a person’s life. In this Shrael and Elaine’s case, distance paved the way for their romance! Though they lived in the same area almost all their lives, it was only after Elaine worked in another country that they finally fell in love. It was indeed a beautiful story of happily ever after. Of course, Team DP made sure that the day when these long-distance lovers came together, made their vow of undying love, and promised to never part, was captured perfectly. After all, after all that time apart, it was only fitting to give them an absolutely perfect record of the moment when they were finally together in one place.
